Neuro-ophthalmology Society Meeting

(Toronto, Ontario, Canada, September 10-14, 2000)

Foreword

This volume is composed of invited presentations from the Meeting of the International Neuro-ophthalmology Society (INOS 2000) held at Toronto, Ontario in September 2000. Being the first international meeting of the new century and millennium for this discipline of neurologists, ophthalmologists and related scientists, its proceedings represent knowledge and progress in the subspecialty at the cusp of the 20th and 21st centuries. The scientific program of the Meeting consisted of plenary sessions on Optic Nerve Advances, Ocular Motor Advances, and Behavioural Neuro-ophthalmology, and free papers and posters on Optic Nerve, Pupils, Eye Movements, Pseudotumor Cerebri, Behavioural Neuro-ophthalmology, Visual Pathway, General Neuro-ophthalmology, and Historical Vignettes. Abstracts of the program are published in Neuro-ophthalmology 23(3-4): 131-251, 2000.

The book is divided into sections on Disorders of the Visual Pathway, Ocular Motor Disorders, Behavioural Neuro-ophthalmology, General Neuro-ophthalmology, and Historical Neuro-ophthalmology. Its contents reveal issues and challenges for practice and research in the neurology of vision and eye movements at the beginning of the millennium.
